Sifnos
Sifnos is a less touristy Greek island, known for its food, and that is exactly why we chose it. We took a 2-hour speed ferry from the main port of Athens.
Here are a few of our favorite finds.

Loggia Wine Bar
You must go at sunset. Get there early. There can be a line. Plan to also visit the famous Church of Seven Martyrs — just around the corner from the bar (first photo).
Ideally, get to Loggia at opening. Hike down to the church for sunset after.
We loved this so much, we did it twice!
Appolonia
A quintessential Greek town in the heart of the island with great shopping and dining in the evening. Morning and midday, you can find the streets empty, with just a few bakeries open — a great time to get photos and meet kittens. :)
Kavos Appartments
We stayed at Kavos and booked via airbnb. The views were truly UNREAL. My only critique is that it was very windy. It made painting and hanging on the patio a bit difficult. But the views…wow. And walkable to Fassolou Beach.
Food
Sifnos is known for its chickpeas above all else!
Misso Misso — Best chickpeas
Loggia — Best octopus / overall
Omega 3 — Honorable mention
Faros Beach
Faros is also walkable from Kavos Apartments - a bit more of a hike on roads/stairs, but not too bad in the morning or afternoon when it is cooler out. I’d say this is more of a restaurant spot, but it also has a beautiful beach. Get there a bit early to find a spot with an umbrella.
Paralia Platis Gialos Beach
So so beautiful. If we go again, we might choose to stay on this beach, given its proximity to bakeries and restaurants. We drove here about 3 times just for day trips. The 15 min drive was just enough time to put Forrest to sleep for his nap — so that was a win.
We rented chairs at Almyra Seaside Beach Bar & Restaurant. That was perfect for a Forrst because it kept him off the sand a bit, and the food was some of the best we had on the island.
Pottery
Sifnos is known for its pottery. My favorite place was in Paralia Platis Gialos, Ceramic Psaraftis.
